It reminds me of the recent K&L XM Fettercairn and of a Binny's G&M Royal Brackla. However, it has a bit of a metallic edge - what I believe you call "green fruits" and "alcohol bite". I attribute it to the relatively young age. (For a stronger version of this metallic edge see the cask strength Braeval that I believe I sent you.) In my limited experience Arran needs more time in the barrel to smoothen out, and 11 years is not quite enough. You are right that time in the glass helps greatly.
