Like I mentioned, subbing in a bit of orange liqueur can let the gin shine a bit more.

The glass came in a Hardy VS cognac gift pack. Didn't know what I'd use it for at first, but it's a good size for this drink.Jordanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06448702693643593156noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3462121554175947733.post-7225380693412938392011-10-08T11:59:44.588-07:002011-10-08T11:59:44.588-07:00Jordan, I agree that this is the best version of t...Jordan, I agree that this is the best version of the singsling. I especially love that it completely avoids the pineapple juice, not that I don't like pineapple, but it's one less ingredient to worry about. All of that Heering worries me each time I make it and I have to double-check that it really calls for a full ounce, but then I taste it and all makes sense. Even an edgier gin works here to combat the sweetness.

Now, I'll admit that I do like the pineapple version that the Long Bar insists is the original, but frankly, when I am enjoying the company of guests and pressed for time, which one do you think I am going to make? The Beachbum wins every time.

By the way, what kind of glass is this? I like the tapered look, as it reminds me of the glasses used at Bradstreet here in Minneapolis.Randyhttp://summitsips.comnoreply@blogger.com
